FOUNDER, ABBIE DANDO

Specialism: SEO, blogging and championing ambitious enterprises.

We Are Copywriters started out as a one-man-band (that’s me). As my client base grew I knew I needed more support – unless I could get a superpower to stay awake writing all night!

I buddied up with my freelance colleagues as experience has shown me that freelancers are hungry for work, ambitious and always trying to better their skills. Not to mention their ability to be flexible and work as an extension of almost any internal team!

My writing passion lies in SEO content. I get such a buzz from ranking #1 on Google – a feeling I’ll never, ever, get bored of. So, if you need help with boosting your online presence and upping your web traffic, get in touch and we’ll show you what we can do.

MATT BRITO

Specialism: Writing for big brands, tone of voice development and script writing.

PureGym, Pets at Home, Screwfix and Ocado are just some of the big brands I write for. Specialisms include SEO driven copy, blogs and developing a brand’s identity with invaluable tone of voice guides.

When I’m not writing for brands I produce scripts for CBBC, CBeebies, BBC1 and BBC3, including five episodes of the BAFTA-winning kids’ sitcom So Awkward. I might have also run eight marathons, been to the I’m A Celebrity jungle and appeared on Supermarket Sweep – not at the same time though!

HOLLY LUCAS

Specialism: Blogging, social media content and writing musicals!

I started my writer life helping a variety of businesses with their social media content. Almost a decade later I now produce every style and form of copywriting you can imagine, working in a whole host of industries. From writing blogs to newsletters, magazines articles and even musicals, I can turn my writing hand to almost anything.

I do have a particular interest in the theatre, and when I’m not typing on my laptop you’ll almost certainly find me singing and dancing in a show somewhere!

SARAH ALLCHURCH

Specialism: Copy editing, proofreading and writing for law-related businesses.

Prior to becoming a copywriter I was a Solicitor working in London. As a busy mum of two I decided to change career paths and specialise in my other passion – writing. I have many law-related clients, however I thoroughly enjoy writing about other areas I enjoy too, such as fashion and parenting subjects.

Aside from the work and kids juggle, I try to keep fit, playing tennis, doing workout classes and running – preferably to 80’s cheesy music (my era)! You will frequently find me with my nose in a book. In another life, I might also have been a police detective for my love of crime drama.

ANDY BAKER

Specialism: Creative ideation, tone of voice, scriptwriting and editorial.

Cutting my teeth with procurement bids and tenders, I soon took a part-time NCTJ course and went full steam into music journalism and news writing. After that, I started copywriting for creative agencies – covering everything from travel to technology. It was here that I began to help clients develop their tone of voice and collaborate with designers on creative campaigns and videos.

I’m a full-time freelancer now and in my spare time love nothing more than catching a gig, whipping up a vegan feast or having a run alongside Brighton seafront. Bliss.

PETA O’BRIEN

Specialisms: Crafting blogs and email newsletters, and helping entrepreneurs discover their brand voice.

I’m endlessly curious, and something of a multi-passionate, so I have my fingers in lots of pies. I write for the health and fitness space, lifestyle businesses, and in the parenting niche. But show me a project in another space that ignites my curiosity and I’m there!

As a youth worker I excelled at building authentic relationships from scratch with hard-nosed teens, and now I love doing this for businesses. I take your voice and weave it through relatable blog posts, emails and web pages so that your target audience feel like you know and understand them.

I’m also a mum of two, with a big age gap, so you’ll usually find me ironing out Minecraft glitches whilst singing nursery rhymes, sometimes whilst fitting in a workout. Multi-tasking is my life!
